WINGMAN |
|
Have you ever noticed how fighter pilots always travel in pairs? It does not matter if it is a routine “fly over,” a training exercise, or a fierce dog fight. A fighter pilot never goes anywhere without a “Wing Man”. This is not a new concept. It goes as far back as Joshua in Biblical times. Joshua sent two men to go spy out the land (Josh 2:1). Jesus sent men into the country side to minister by twos. ( Mark 6:7). Why do you think a wing man is so important? Perhaps it is so that you will know that someone is watching your back for enemy attacks, or maybe because if you get shot down your wing man can inform others of your exact location and reinforcements can come and rescue you. Maybe it’s just for mutual encouragement. For example, another person could remind you about the purpose of the mission and help keep you focused.
Joshua used this concept, Jesus used this concept, and the military
has been using this concept for over a hundred years. So…. …. Where is your
wing man? Buddy Couvillion
